Love that Rustic Wedding!

Do you love the natural rustic style and want to capture that relaxed, informal look for your wedding? I hope the following images might give you a few ideas – and I can promise you that everything you see here is achievable as they are all designs I have created for my wedding clients. You can find more ideas in my website gallery too…

The Bride’s Bouquet

Freshly picked bridal bouquet

Loose, natural styled hand tied bouquets work really well – try the ‘freshly picked’ look, gathering armfuls of country garden flowers with lots of texture and plenty of foliage to set the flowers off

Rustic style hand tied bouquet

Colours can be pale and dusky with touches of dainty gypsophila, feathery astilbe and gorgeous roses…

Sunflower bridal bouquet

But don’t feel limited to pale colours as bright golden sunflowers have the perfect, simple look for rustic styles too! Interesting foliage and berries work well in this sort of style, such as the berried eucalyptus you can see in this bouquet.

Flowers for the Girls

Simple gypsophila posies

And for your bridesmaids what could be better than simple bunches of dainty gypsophila?

Or you could choose a pretty bunch of ‘freshly picked’ flowers for your bridesmaids too

Flowers for the Men

Rustic style buttonholes

For the buttonholes you might want to think about a small spray of flowers or gypsophila to match the bouquet and posies rather than a more formal single stem buttonhole – touches of raffia will complete the look!

Setting the Style for your Ceremony and Reception

Decorated wedding archways

Decorated archways make a fabulous statement piece and can be created in styles to match your other designs whether you need a stand-alone archway for a civil ceremony or there is a church arch suitable for decoration – the trick for rustic styling is to keep things natural by incorporating plenty of foliage. They are great for taking your photos under too!

Lining the aisle with flowers

Some ideas for decorating the aisle or pathway to your venue – these ideas can easily be adapted to other situations too

Flowers on barrels and churns

If traditional pedestal stands or urn vases don’t have the right look for you it is still possible to have large floral displays for your ceremony or reception – just think outside the box…

Flowers for the Tables

Jars of country style flowers

Keep table styling simple with bunches of pretty flowers in jam jars or other simple glass containers – so simple but so effective! To put your individual stamp on things you can always decorate the jars with raffia, ribbon, lace…

Rustic barn wedding

Jars in different sizes can be grouped in different ways to suit the layout of your venue – for this barn wedding the long tables were laid with hessian runners and jars of flowers placed in groups along their length for maximum impact.

Rustic style flowers on wood slices

Use wood slices to add another dimension to your table centres by placing jars and bottles of different sizes at different heights – it helps to make a few flowers fill a much greater space! This look is perfect for barns and marquee settings

Compact table centres with hessian

But if jars are not your thing there are plenty of other things you could do, such adding a touch of hessian and raffia to your table centres to give them that rustic edge

Low table centre with trailing foliage and candle

These centrepieces included plenty of trailing foliage and gypsophila to work the rustic look, with candlelight to add to the atmosphere too

Rustic wedding top table flowers

And if you want something a little special for your top table you can choose to continue with the ‘freshly picked’ look using plenty of country garden flowers…

Top table arrangement with trailing foliage

Or choose a more traditional long and low spray design but with plenty of trailing foliage to create a natural-looking style

The Finishing Touches

And now on to the fun stuff! All sorts of things can be filled with flowers to create a very personal look for your wedding…
