Country Chic!

As Sara has a design background she was very keen to get the colours for her wedding flowers just right, so that these would inject some soft colour into the otherwise neutral scheme. The bridesmaids wore dresses in a pale cappuccino colour with chair sashes and other decorative elements in taupe. Colours chosen for the flowers were in a range of muted pastel shades including lilac, dusky pink and soft peachy coral with cream and ivory.

Sara and Liam wanted their wedding to have a modern country garden feel, which was the perfect choice for a summer wedding at Orton Hall Hotel, which is set in beautiful grounds – perfect for wandering around and with lots of photo opportunities!

You can currently see some of the flower designs from this beautiful wedding in my featured wedding gallery (and my thanks to Jo from Summer Love Photography for allowing me to share some of her stunning photos, as well as to Sara and Liam of course!).

Bride with her bouquet of dusky roses and gypsophila

Sara’s beautiful hand tied bouquet included masses of roses in mouth-watering colours, such as lilac, dusky pink, cream and peachy-coral. The dainty flowers of gypsophila gave the bouquet a country garden feel and worked perfectly with the lace detailing on Sara’s dress.

Bouquet and posies in muted pastel colours including roses and gypsophila

You can see from the image of Sara and her bridesmaids holding their flowers how well the colours went with the bridesmaids’ dresses, adding subtle touches of soft colour.

Groom's cream rose buttonhole

To ensure that all the key designs worked well together, the men wore buttonholes of creamy Vendela roses, which were also used in the bouquet and posies. Liam’s buttonhole had touches of lilac to pick up the colours used in Sara’s bouquet.

Wedding ceremony flowers at Orton Hall Peterborough

Displays of gorgeous flowers were used to decorate the ceremony room and set the tone of the wedding. Both the pedestal display and spray design for the registrar’s table included roses in the same dusky shades as Sara’s bouquet and the bridesmaids’ posies.

Simple designs of massed roses and gypsophila were placed in the centre of the guest tables to continue the ‘country chic’ look.
