Dusky roses...

Alice and Bav’s beautiful wedding took place at favourite venue Bassmead Manor Barns in early summer. The sun shone and it was a gorgeous day!

Their chosen colour palette was a stunning mix of dusky pink roses with foliage in shades of green and grey, mixed with other flowers in white/ivory and touches of gold in the decorations – perfect for their ‘classic English vintage’ style.

Amnesia rose bouquet

Alice particularly loved those gorgeous deep Amnesia roses, which she chose for her bouquet and they looked perfect with her colouring. The roses were mixed with ivory lisianthus, freesias and touches of gypsophila offset by greyish-green eucalyptus foliage. Sprigs of lavender were added to the bouquet for sentimental reasons.

Gypsophila posies

The bridesmaids carried simple posies of massed gypsophila, which work so well for that vintage look. The posies were tied with dusky rose lace to complement their pale dusky pink dresses.

Rose and gypsophila buttonholes

Meanwhile Bav and the other men wore buttonholes in a mix of Amensia roses and gypsophila, offset by sprigs of eucalyptus foliage.

Floral urn display

To create a fabulous feature design for the wedding ceremony and barn reception area I mixed dusky Amnesia and Mentha roses with delphiniums, peonies and Alice’s favourite lilies – a display like this is always worth having if you can use it throughout the day.

Foliage and rose centrepieces

For the table centrepieces Alice and Bav chose to have unstructured designs featuring plenty of trailing foliage for a natural look and including more dusky roses and small succulents wrapped in moss.
