Woodland Wedding

I so enjoyed creating the floral designs for Carly and David’s early spring wedding as they chose a natural woodland-inspired style with burgundy flowers, masses of trailing foliage and other natural materials, such as pine cone, seed heads and berries.

Burgundy and cream floral pedestals in church

The wedding took place in the country setting of St Peter’s Church in Yaxley, which was decorated for the occasion with floral pedestals of burgundy and cream/ivory flowers offset by plenty of trailing foliage to suit the woodland theme chosen for the occasion.

Owl ring bearer

A very special guest – Casper the owl – attended the ceremony and delivered the rings to the best man with impeccable timing! He matches the flowers well too, doesn’t he?

Bride and bridesmaids with burgundy flowers

Such a lovely happy family occasion! Carly’s mum (and best friend) acted as her matron of honour wearing a fabulous navy dress, while the other bridesmaids wore dresses in burgundy – the mix of flowers chosen by Carly and David complemented these colours perfectly.

Bride's bouquet and shoes

The bridal bouquet contained burgundy germinis, carnations, chrysanthemums and ranunculus with cream roses, freesias and touches of gypsophila. To create a natural textured look, I added berried eucalyptus as well as hypericum berries, seed heads and pine cones.

And to add to the woodland feel the men wore pine cones in their buttonholes!

Flowers and candlelight for the centrepieces

The celebrations continued with a reception at The Haycock Hotel, which was decorated with unstructured table centrepieces with trailing foliage, burgundy and cream flowers, log slices, pine cones and flickering candlelight – simply perfect!

Many congratulations to such a lovely couple, and I was so pleased to hear that you thought my floral designs were perfect!

If you would like to see more of the flowers from this beautiful wedding, do take a look at my website gallery where it is currently being featured. My thanks to Carly and David for allowing me to share some of the fabulous photos from their special day, and of course thanks too go to their awesome photographer, Ryan Jarvis!
